As a wife, mother (of typical, special needs, & exchange students), mimi, sister, teacher, and friend I am someone who can celebrate with you who understands what it is like to live these experiences.
“Jen is always so welcoming and patient with our little boy. She makes you feel like family when you are with her. She is like the creative fun aunt! We are so grateful for these sweet moments captured of our little fella over the first year of his life.”
I am truly glad you are here! My name is Jen Strode, and I love what I do. My career as an elementary teacher has taken me around the world. I have had the amazing privilege of travelling to more than 25 countries exploring and photographing people and landscapes. As long as I can remember, I have loved working with children, exploring new places and taking photos. Teaching overseas allowed me the opportunity to do all three! As much as I loved exploring and seeing beautiful sights, my favorite part of traveling was meeting new people and learning about them and their culture.
I now live in Spring Grove, PA with my husband and two of our four children. We also have a beautiful little grandson, two very spoiled cats and one sweet lab. Over the years we have enjoyed hosting seven exchange students. Our life is rich and full of love!
- Camping in the great outdoors, especially by a river, lake or the ocean
- Indulging in a frozen yogurt topped with crushed Oreos and hot fudge
- Snuggling babies
- Cheering for our youngest, LiliAnna, at Special Olympics and Unified Sports
I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story.
In 2024, I opened my new studio—a true labor of love! Creating this dedicated space was a journey, but it’s incredible to have everything I need in one place. It is wonderful having a place for clients to sit back and relax while I am working with their newborn. There is also a place for little ones to play with age-appropriate toys. I’m completely obsessed with props, always on the hunt for unique pieces. I source outfits from Etsy and often craft my own.
As a member of professional photographers' destash groups, I’m constantly discovering hidden gems. If there’s an antique store nearby, you can bet my car will find its way there—even when I don’t have a spare moment! Most importantly, every prop is meticulously cleaned and safety-checked before a baby is ever placed in it.
“Jen made the newborn session a relaxing and a beautiful experience. I left the chaos of a new baby, a toddler, a room full of toys, dirty dishes and a mountain of laundry behind, only to be greeted with a cold drink, a fresh homemade blueberry muffin and a comfortable nursery rocker to relax and watch Jen photograph my precious baby. Our time together was more than just taking pictures, it was filled with good conversations where I felt comfortable enough to share about my life. I highly recommend Jen as she is more than a photographer, she is now a friend.”
